Theme: Reimagining education – expanding our view of the possible
Mara Krechevsky, Senior Researcher at Project Zero, an educational research group at Harvard University. The Municipal Preschools and Infant-toddler Centres of Reggio Emilia, Italy, are arguably the most powerful experiment in early childhood education of the last 50 years. These schools have drawn international attention to the extraordinary capacities of children as individual and group learners, the potentials of dedicated teachers, and the role of education in a democratic society. In this talk, Mara Krechevsky explores the power of the group as a learning environment and how making learning visible makes learning possible. The keynote is followed by a panel discussion together with Niklas Brismar Pålsson, Teacher in Swedish and Philosophy and Kenneth Nally, Curriculum and Assessment Policy Unit, Ministry of Education, Ireland moderated by Ronald A. Beghetto, Pinnacle West Presidential Chair and Professor, Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College, Arizona State University. Recorded at the conference Rethinking Creativity in Education – A Solution for 21st Century Challenges? arranged by Berättarministeriet and Karolinska Institutet, 20-21 November 2021.
